Agate  Laptop (Compaq armada 4120) to use on the road.

1   Description

This is a quite old computer but I have just taken care of it and after some hardware fixes (like fixing the keyboard (with a tiny peace of paper on the right place..., and removing the battery) it is now working fine. I have removed the old windows installation and installed debian instead.

There are some problems though. The first one is that the keybord does not work properly. So to use it you have to attach a external one or login via the network. This is a physical problem (very bad construction). I have fixed it once with a piece of paper but now it does not work again.

6   Changes

2001-11-05 There was some problems too boot this so I had to clean it inside again. After that it boots nice. I forgot to connecto a few screws inside properly.
2001-11-04 Switched the disc to one from a IBM thinkpad. It successfully booted.
2001 summer

The hard disc broke down. It was a Fujitsu M2714T, 1 Gb (1085.9 Mb), 526 cyl, 64 heads, 63 sectors/track.

Agate is dead due to a hard disk crash. :( So if you have a really cheep one I'll think about recreate it.
