This tool is a quite simple cron job that updates a debian system (by default only apt-get update) using apt-get. You can configure it to do anythig that you can do by running apt-get. If there is a failure it send an email to the system administrator so he/she can fix the error.

Licensed under GPL.

3   Download

At your local debian mirror. See the Debian package page.

If you are interrested in this project you can find the source. This file is generated on the fly from the CVS so be patient.

According to (http://www.linux.net.nz/lists/NZLUG/2003/02/0162.html) cron-apt can be downloaded in rpm-format too. Is this (http://ftp.die.net/apt/redhat/8.0/en/i386/SRPMS.extra/) the one? What I have found out tells me that it is NOT!
